Mount Aconcagua - 6,962m (22.841 ft)

Guided ascent program of mount Aconcagua

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Mendoza, transfer airport-hotel lodging.
Day 2 Free day in Mendoza.
Day 3 Transfer in private vehicles from Mendoza to Penitentes where the group will spend the night.
Day 4 From Penitentes, we take route 7, and, 7 miles away from the hotel, we arrive at the Horcones Valley (9,833 ft / 2,950 m), where the trek begins, and after a short day, around 4 hours, we arrive at our camp, Confluencia (11,300 ft / 3,390 m).
Day 5 Confluencia - South Face - Confluencia. Our main objective is acclimatization. On this day, after a 7-hour walk, we will be close to the imposing south face of Aconcagua.
Day 6 Confluencia - Plaza de Mulas (14,500 ft / 4,350 m). After a 7-hour hike we arrive at our base camp.
Day 7 Rest in Plaza de Mulas.
Day 8 Climbing Cerro Bonete (16,680 ft / 5,004 m)
Day 9 Equipment carry to Nido de Cóndores (18,533 ft / 5,560 m) and we return to Plaza de Mulas.
Day 10 Rest day in Plaza de Mulas, where the climbers will be able to have a hot shower.
Day 11 Plaza de Mulas - Plaza Canadá, where we will set up our first camp.
Day 12 Canadá - Nido de Condores, our porters will carry the tents and all the rest of the common gear.
Day 13 Nido de Cóndores - Berlín (19,776 ft / 5,930 m). This will be the group´s last high altitude camp before attempting to the summit.
Day 14 Summit day, To secure the success of the expedition we have added two additional summit days in case of bad weather.
Day 15 Extra weather day.
Day 16 Extra weather day.
Day 17 Berlín - Plaza de Mulas.
Day 18 Plaza de Mulas – Penitentes: this walk takes approximately 6/7 hours to the park entrance at Horcones Valley, from where we will be driven to Mendoza by vehicle, after picking up our gear in Penitentes.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Mendoza city. Transfer airport-hotel lodging.
Day 2 Free day in Mendoza.
Day 3 Transfer in private vehicles from Mendoza to Penitentes where the group will spend the night.
Day 4 We drive from Penitentes to Vacas Valley entry, where the approach begins. Around 4 hours later we arrive to Pampa de Lenas, our first trekking camp.
Day 5 Hike to Casa de Piedra, our second trekking camp.
Day 6 Arrival to base camp, probably the hardest day of the approach.
Day 7 Rest day at base camp.
Day 8 Equipment carrying to camp 1 (16,000 ft / 4,800 m.) and return to base camp.
Day 9 Rest day at base camp.
Day 10 Move to camp 1.
Day 11 Equipment carrying to camp 2 and return to camp 1.
Day 12 Rest day at camp 1.
Day 13 Move to camp 2.
Day 14 Move to camp 3.
Day 15 Summit day. To optimize the possibilities of the group to get to the summit, in case of bad weather, we will make up to 3 summit attempts.
Day 16 Second summit attempt.
Day 17 Third summit attempt.
Day 18 Camp 3 - Normal route base camp.
Day 19 Plaza de Mulas – Penitentes: this walk takes approximately 6/7 hours to the park entrance at Horcones Valley, from where we will be driven to Mendoza by vehicle, after picking up our gear in Penitentes.
